An access log is a comprehensive list of all the files which were accessed by the visitors of a given Internet site. Every file that was requested for some reason shall be listed, so if you have only one webpage with 3 embedded pictures, one video and one embedded text file, for instance, the access log will contain a total of six entries - one for each of the 6 files that were accessed when the website visitor opened the webpage. A log normally shows the file name and path, the date, along with the visitor’s OS, worldwide web browser and IP address. Oftentimes you could also find the referrer sites that sent the visitors to your Internet site. The data an access log file contains is in human-readable plain text format. It can be processed by special software on a laptop or computer and used to write reports on the performance of an Internet site, independent of the web statistics that your web hosting server may have created.

After you sign in to your Hepsia Control Panel, you can go to the Access/Error Logs section in which you will see a thorough list of the domains and subdomains you have added or created within the hosting account. You'll only have to click on the On button, that's located on the right-hand side of every hostname and our cloud platform shall start generating logs right away. To disable this feature, you'll have to follow the very same steps and click on the Off button. The domains and subdomains can be handled individually and anytime. A Download link within the same section will allow you to save the compiled content as a text file, which you can then use on your laptop or computer. Even if the logs are disabled, you shall still be able to download the data which has been previously generated.
